Lonie Himel Marchand

Lonie was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt and sister. She was a lifelong resident of Geismar. Born October 7, 1925 and left this world unexpectedly on September 19, 2013 at the age of 87.

She is survived by her three children, Diane and Joseph Corona, Johnny Marchand and Brenda Marchand. She is also survived by two sisters, Byrdie Doiron, Evelyn Himel; brother, Kenneth and Jane Himel. She enjoyed and spoiled her grandkids; four grand kids, ten great grand kids, and three great great grand kids.

She enjoyed spending time with family, friends, her flowers, hummingbirds, fish and fruit trees.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence Johnny Marchand; parents, Whitney and Adele Himel; sister, Dorothy and A J Malik; brother in law, Vernon Doiron; four nephews, Michael and Tommy Malik, David Doiron, and Keith Himel; two nieces, Megan Donachritcha and Melanie Himel.

Lonie will be missed greatly by her loving family. Many years ago Lonie donated her body to science to help others.

A memorial gathering will be held at Ourso Funeral Home, Gonzales on Monday, September 23, 2013 from 5 pm to 8 pm.
