Lorna Schneider Mumphrey

Lorna Schneider Mumphrey, 73 years old, passed away peacefully on September 28, 2025. She was born on August 13, 1952, in Pittsfield, Massachusetts. Lorna was a devoted wife, mother, incredible “Maw Maw”, sister, and friend. Lorna dedicated her life to her family, who were the center of her world—especially her many beloved grandchildren. If you knew Lorna you knew she loved to read a good book. Lorna lived with great spirit and generosity, and her legacy lives on in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing her.

She was preceded in death by her father, Douglas Arnold Schneider, and two loving sisters, Gloria Gaines and Elsie Jo Schneider. Lorna is survived by her loving husband, Clarence Mumphrey; Mother, Elsie Hall Schnider; her three children: Douglas Mumphrey (Nancy), Wendy Doud (Joshua) and Nathan Mumphrey (Steele), along with her amazing grandchildren: Vito, Emily and Michael Mumphrey, Joshua Jr., Brett, Elisabeth and Wyatt Doud and Catherine and Samantha Mumphrey. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

A visitation for Lorna will be held Saturday, October 11, 2025 from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM at St. Stephens Catholic Church, 22502 Highway 22, Maurepas, Louisiana 70449, followed by a Mass of Christian burial at 12:00 PM. Lorna will be laid to rest at a later date in Garden of Memories Cemetery, Metairie, Louisiana.
