

Oscar Louis Dempster Jr., "Cowboy" or "Lool, " was born on December 17, 1922. He was 91, a native of Vacherie and a resident of Carville at the Hansen Disease Center since 7 years old. He died on July 6, 2014, at St. Clair Manor Home in Baton Rouge. Visiting at Sacred Heart Chapel located within the Hansen Disease Center in Carville on Friday, July 11, 2014, at 9:30 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in Hansen Disease Center Cemetery in Carville, LA. He was a member of the Sacred Heart Chapel where he served as an Altar Boy for many years. Survived by niece Cathy Dempster Cousin and husband Gerald R. Cousin, Darrow, LA. Sister-in-law Marie Agatha Haydel Dempster, Darrow, LA. Two God Children, Terry J Dempster, Gonzales, LA, Gennia C Baye and husband Gerald Baye Jr., Gonzales, LA. Nephews Morris C Hotard, Callen L. Dempster Sr., Alton "Sque" Dempster, Jessie Dempster and Darrell Dempster, Thomas James Dempster Jr., Terry Dempster, Eugene Anderson, Joseph Anderson, Harris Martinez Jr. "Boy" and Callen James Dempster Sr. Nieces Darlene Naquin, Carrie D. Loupe, Linda D. Larousse, and Beverly D. Poynter, Clara D. Truxillo, and Carol Dornier Summers. Proceeded in death by parents Oscar L. Dempster and Azema Becnel Dempster; brothers, Joseph Dempster, of Sorrento, Thomas James "Jimmy" Dempster Sr., of Darrow and Onezime Louis "Z.Z." Dempster, of Kraemer; sisters, Elodie Anderson, of Darrow, Adeline "Neen" Hotard, of Kraemer, and Eloise "Blondie" Mishina, of Carville. Niece Elsie Loupe, of Kraemer, and Nephew Joseph "Buddy" Dempster, of Gonzales. The family wishes to offer special thanks to St. Clair Manor Home, the staff at Hansen Disease Center, St Joseph Hospice and all of the doctors who took care of our loved one.
