

Margaret “Bobbie Jane” Blanchard Rouyea passed away on January 12, 2026, at the age of 82. She was a devoted member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church, where she was active in the Catholic Daughters and had a special love for the church’s food pantry ministry. She dedicated many years of service working for the State of Louisiana in various positions and worked for Senator Louis Lambert. Throughout her career, she remained devoted to her family, raising four children while also providing accounting support for her husband, Bill. She had a lifelong love of dancing and enjoyed clogging. Her and Bill were long-time members of the Country Kickers Square Dance Club, where she took great pride in handmaking all of her own dance dresses. She cherished time spent with her grandchildren, especially playing Scrabble, checkers, and card games. Margaret loved to travel, whether camping in the mountains or walking along the beach. Music was an important part of her life, with a special fondness for Elvis, Connie Francis, and music of the 1950s. She enjoyed playing the guitar and harmonica. She was often found with a book in her hand or relaxing on her porch swing. She is survived by her four children, Clinton Rouyea III (Barbara); Paul Rouyea (M’Leigh); Rhonda Mumphrey (Kerry); Cassondra Johnson (Jay); and siblings Earl Blanchard (Shelia), Michael Blanchard (Margaret), Nancy Forbes, Steve Blanchard (Barbara) and Mary Decuir (Donnie). Her grandchildren: Jorden Mumphrey (Brittnee), Justen Mumphrey (Brittany), Austin Rouyea (Mórrígan), Jadyn Braud (Jesse), Emily Baut (Evan), Brooke Rouyea, Grace Tramonte, Preston Tramonte, Jaydin Johnson, Jase Johnson. She has twelve great grandchildren: Dylan, Emmalynn, Remington, Magnolia, Cooper, Cohen, Everleigh, Mali, Ella, Holt, Violet, Kasen, and 3 on the way. She is preceded in death by her husband Clinton “Bill” Rouyea Jr: her parents Earl Blanchard Sr. and Margaret Ourso Blanchard Forbes: Her brothers Roland Blanchard and Darrell Blanchard: brother-in-law Wayne Forbes and sister-in-law Audrey Stoute.
Pallbearers: Justen Mumphrey, Jorden Mumphrey, Austin Rouyea, Preston Tramonte, Jase Johnson, Mike Blanchard and Russell Blanchard. Honorary pallbearer: Steve Blanchard.
A visitation for Margaret will be held Monday, January 19, 2026, from 5pm to 8pm at Ourso Funeral Home, 13533 Airline Hwy, Gonzales, LA. Visitation will resume on Tuesday January 20, 2026, from 9am to 11am at Holy Rosary Catholic Church 44450 La Hwy 429 St. Amant La. The mass of a catholic burial will begin at 11am. Margaret will be laid to rest at Holy Rosary Catholic church mausoleum. In lieu of flowers please donate to Holy Rosary Catholic Church food bank.
