Marie B. Rivett

A loving wife, mother and Granny, Marie was a native of Baton Rouge and a longtime resident of Sunshine. Marie was born on August 3, 1944 and departed this life on August 2, 2017 at the age of 72. Marie was retired from Iberville Parish School Food Service with 20 years of service. The visitation will be held at St. Gabriel Catholic Church on Friday August 4, 2017 from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM with the recitation of the rosary to be held at 7:00 PM. The visitation will continue at St. Gabriel Catholic Church on Saturday August 5,2017 from 9:00 AM until a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM celebrated by Rev. Charlie Landry and concelebrated by Rev. Jon Koehler. The interment will follow at St. Gabriel Catholic Church Cemetery. Marie is survived by 4 daughters and their spouses: Myra and Wade Tircuit, Kaye and Eugene LeBlanc, Jr. and LeAnn and Terry Roy all of Sunshine, La. and Jenny and Garron Gautreau of Gonzales, La., her grandchildren: Emily and Robbie Patterson, Monica Tircuit, Amanda and Luke Granier, Zach and Carolyn LeBlanc, Joseph LeBlanc, Cindi and Josh Sanders, Anna Roy, Cody and Seth Gautreau, 9 great grandchildren and 1 sister: Annie B. Arnold of Grayson, Georgia. Marie is also survived by step-children: Joslyn, Regina, J.C. Rivett, Jr. and wife Tammie as well as their children and grandchildren. Marie is preceded in death by her first husband: Roy Gomez who was the father of her 4 daughters, second husband: J. C. Rivett, Sr., parents: Roy and Rosalie Sullivan Borders, 2 sisters: Mildred Borders and Myra Thelma Vega and 1 brother: Leroy Borders. Marie was a member of St. Gabriel Catholic Church and the St. Gabriel Ladies Altar Society. Serving as pallbearers will be her grandsons.
