Mary Ruth Black, a native of Ottumwa, Iowa and a resident of Prairieville, Louisiana, passed away on February 29, 2020 at the age of 93. She was a volunteer at Ottumwa Hospital who enjoyed listening to music but especially loved spending time with her family and friends. She is survived by two daughters, Linda R. Breitenbeck (Dr. Gary) of Mountain Home, Arkansas, and Carol A. Frasier of Tallahassee, Florida; two sons, Lon A. Black (Judy) of Prairieville, Louisiana, and Stephen L. Black (Debra) of Urbandale, Iowa; four grandchildren, Stephanie Collins (Bryan), Chris Black (Lindsay), Sarah Carter (Jeremy) and Erica Black; and five great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, Fay and George Johnson Jr.; and her loving husband of 50 years, Harry J. Black.
