

Norris John Arceneaux, a native and resident of Gonzales, passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 11, 2017 at the age of 92. Norris was a proud Navy Veteran and retired Assistant Chief of the Baton Rouge Fire Dept. Norris is survived by his loving wife of 71 years, Earline LeBlanc Arceneaux; sons, Barry Arceneaux and wife, Priscilla, Jerry Arceneaux and wife, Shannon, Bryan Arceneaux and wife, Cindy; grandchildren, Darren Pizzalato, Troy Smith, Angela Smith Holden, Jerry Arceneaux, Johnny Arceneaux, Patrick Arceneaux, Travis Arceneaux, Bryan Arceneaux, Jr. Blake Arceneaux; son-in-law, Richard Smith. Norris is preceded in death by his parents, Edward Arceneaux and Hester Ambeau Arceneaux; daughter, Gwen Arceneaux Smith; brother, Herman Arceneaux; sister, Hazel Arceneaux Bunnell. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 15, 2017 at Ourso Funeral Home from 6:00 pm until 9:00 pm. Visitation will resume on Thursday, November 16, 2017 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church from 9:00 am until Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am. Interment will follow in church cemetery. His grandchildren, Darren, troy, Patrick, Travis, Bryan, Blake, Angie, and Jerry will serve as pallbearers. Johnny Arceneaux and his godchild, Kenny LeBlanc will serve as honorary pallbearers.
