

A native of Gonzales and resident of Baton Rouge, she passed away Sunday, September 30, 2012 at the age of 77. She graduated from Gonzales High School in 1953 and remained lifelong friends with her classmates. While in high school she played the clarinet and was a member of the Bulldogs Marching band, something she was very passionate about and looked back on fondly. She was an excellent bowler, loved to quilt and would make beautiful quilts for all of her loved ones. She is survived by her husband of 47 years, Donald R. Scarborough; daughters and a son-in-law, Stephanie Scarborough, Lisa Scarborough and Jeff P. Sheets; son, Douglas Scarborough; sister, Sharon Villar; brothers and sisters-in-law, James “Sneaky” and Veronica Babin, Dwight and Wanda Babin; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, all of whom she loved very much. She is preceded in death by her parents, Bella Parr and Winthrop Babin. There will be a visitation at Ourso Funeral Home, Gonzales, Tuesday, October 2, 2012 from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Visitation will resume at St. Theresa of Avila Catholic Church in Gonzales, Wednesday, October 3, 2012 from 9:00 a.m. until a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m.. Interment will be in Hope Haven Garden of Memory Cemetery in Gonzales. Pallbearers will be Dwayne Acosta, Lee Serio, Chad Acosta, Lynn Serio, Royce Babin, and Michael Scarborough.
