Paul Anthony Milano, 88, passed away peacefully at his home on Sunday, August 10, 2025, surrounded by the love of his family. A devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend, Paul touched countless lives with his generous spirit and kind heart.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 64 years, Wanda Oubre Milano, and their four children: Mona Milano Rodrigue (Ronnie Sr.), Kim Milano, Rae Milano, and Nicholis Milano (Kelly). Paul was the proud “Grandpa” to Meredith Gaudet (Chad), Melissa Rodrigue, Ronnie Rodrigue Jr. (Casey), Ryan Rodrigue (Macy), Brennan Milano (Lauryn), Nicholis Milano, Lexi Arceneaux (Ethan), along with three step-grandchildren. His great-grandchildren—Grant, Gavin, and Ali Gaudet; Joseph Rodrigue; Carter Milano—and nine step-great-grandchildren brought him endless joy. He is also survived by his sisters, Sybil Savoie and Myrna DuBois.
Paul was preceded in death by his parents, Nicholas and Maude Robert Milano, and his sister, Janice Thiac. He also lost his best fur bud, ‘Rosco’, truly a man’s best friend.
A proud graduate of Ascension Catholic High School, Class of 1955, Paul treasured his lifelong friendships with his classmates. He served honorably in the U.S. Navy from 1955 to 1957 as a Seaman during peacetime. His career included 12 years with Mobile Oil, where he formed lasting bonds with his coworkers, followed by decades as a dedicated farmer, harvesting soybeans and sugarcane from 1975 until his retirement in 2004.
Paul lived a life rooted in service and community. He was an active member of the Knights of Columbus, the St. Joseph’s Altar Society in Donaldsonville, the Maintenance and Building Committee at St. Anthony of Padua in Darrow, where he was a parishioner, and a Farm Bureau and ASCS board member. Always ready to lend a hand, Paul brought his skills as a master woodworker to projects big and small. One of his proudest accomplishments was restoring the confessional at Ascension Catholic, originally built by his grandfather.
Above all, Paul was a man of faith and family. He cherished the Milano family reunions, the hours spent at the ballfield with his grandchildren, and the joy of gathering with those he loved. His larger-than-life smile, generous heart, and unwavering love for others will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
The family would like to thank all devoted caregivers, especially those who traveled this full journey with them- Ilena Bernard, Sandra Brown, and the late Pat Harris. In addition, thanks to Dr. Aguillard, Dr. Yadlapati, Renal Associates, and Pinnacle Palliative Care for their excellent healthcare.
Family and friends are invited to a wake on Wednesday, August 13, 2025, from 5:00–8:00 p.m. at Ourso Funeral Home, 13533 Airline Hwy, Gonzales, LA 70737.
