Paula Ficklin Speligene

.GONZALES-A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for Mrs. Paula Ficklin Speligene, age 69, at 10:00 am on Thursday, March 10, 2016 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in St. Amant followed by interment at Hope Haven Garden of Memory in Gonzales. Fr. Michael Galea will officiate. Visitation will be held at Ourso Funeral Home Chapel on Wednesday, March 9, 2016 from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM and again at Holy Rosary Catholic Church on Thursday, March 10, 2016 starting at 9:00 AM and continuing until Mass at 10:00 AM. Mrs. Speligene was a loving and devoted wife and mother. She enjoyed having meals with her St. Amant high school friends, quilting, sewing, cooking and baking but most of all she loved spending time with prides of her life, her 8 grandchildren. Her kind heart and generosity will be missed by many. She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Sam Speligene, Jr.; son, Darren Anthony Speligene and wife Monica Stelly Speligene; daughter, Paige Speligene Babin and husband Kevin J. Babin, M.D.; grandchildren, Elizabeth Jude Babin, Katherine Claire Babin, Caroline Paige Babin, Alexander Reid Babin, Devin Anthony Speligene, Marina Marie Speligene, Michaela Grace Speligene, Melisse Danielle Speligene; mother, Hazel DeArmond Patterson; siblings, Donna Ficklin Forsyth and husband Ronnnie Forsyth, Nicki Martin Villnerve and husband Byron Villnerve, Jima Patterson Sibille, Robert “Buddy” Patterson, Leo Tensley Ficklin, Jr., Darla Ficklin Horner and husband Paul Horner, Brian Ficklin and wife Tina and George Ficklin and wife Melissa. She is preceded in death by her father, Leo T. Ficklin and grandparents, Genevieve “Bertie” DeArmond and Agnew “Chip” DeArmond. Pallbearers will be Devin Speligene, Alexander Reid Babin, Robert “Buddy” Patterson, Ronnie Forsyth, Kevin J. Babin, M.D. and Darrell Langlois.
