Mr. Richard Burke Lazarus

Richard was a resident of St. Amant and passed away on Tuesday, September 27, 2016. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. After many years of service as a butcher, he retired from National Food Stores. With a passion for the outdoors, it led to a love of raising and training beagles for rabbit hunting. A visitation will be held at Ourso Funeral Home, Gonzales on Friday, September 30, 2016 from 5:00 pm until 9:00pm and continue at Ourso Funeral Home, Gonzales on Saturday, October 1, 2016 from 9:00am until Funeral Service at 11:00am conducted by Rev. Wayne Talley; entombment to follow at Holy Rosary Catholic Church Mausoleum. Mr. Richard is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Elsie “Pookum” Lazarus; daughter: Trina Fouchi; son and daughter in law: Denny & Michelle Lazarus; 3 grandchildren: Gabriella Fouchi, Roman Fouchi, Emerson Lazarus; sister: Betty Armstrong; 2 brothers: Gerald Lazarus & Guy Lazarus. He is preceded in death by his parents Luther & May Lazarus; 5 sisters Raynell Matherne; Joyce Lofton, Eloise Savoy, Helen Bueche, Peggy Jones; 3 brothers: Rayford Lazarus, Carl Lazarus, Bobby Lazarus.
