Richard Paul Murphy

Richard Murphy, 75, native and resident of French Settlement, LA passed away Monday, February 12, 2018. He was the son of Eddie Murphy, Sr. and Ida Schexnaider Murphy. Richard is survived by his daughter, Chantel Whatley; 2 stepsons, Lonnie Watts and Dale Watts; 2 sisters, Camille Malbrough (Robert) and Helen Roussel; brother, Eddie Murphy (Glenda); 2 grandchildren, Danielle Wilder and Dale Wilder and 1 great-grandchild, Jacque Wilder. Preceded in death by his wife, Esther Watts Murphy; parents; brothers, Henry Murphy and John D. Murphy and brother-in-law, Charles Roussel. Visitation will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church in French Settlement on Thursday, February 15, 2018 from 9AM until service at 11AM; celebrant, Pastor Jason Palermo. Pallbearers will be Randy Malbrough, Mark Roussel, Scott Murphy, Henry Aydell (Junior), William (Buster) Matherne and Kevin Kees.
