Rita M. Miller passed away on October 11, 2025 just a few days shy of her 76th birthday surrounded by her adoring family. She was born and raised in West Boylston, Massachusetts and moved to Louisiana in 1993. She leaves behind to cherish her memory, her loving husband Terry Miller; her daughter, Melissa Capozzo of Worcester, Massachusetts; her son, Matt Capozzo of Sorrento, Louisiana; her sister, Jean Riganati of East Douglas, Massachusetts, and her sister-in-law, Vicki Estess of Baker, Louisiana. She was preceded in death by her parents Ralph and Jennie Riganati.
Rita was a devoted wife, loving mother, cherished sister, and a dear friend to many. Her gentle spirit and genuine kindness left a lasting impression on everyone she met. Rita had a unique way of making people feel welcome, like family, no matter how briefly their paths crossed.
She had an incredible passion for crocheting. More than just a hobby, it was a true craft she had mastered. Over the years, she created thousands of handmade pieces, each stitched with care and love. Her generosity knew no bounds. She often volunteered her time and talent to make and donate afghans, scarves, hats, and other beautiful creations to those in need.
Rita also shared a love of video games with her beloved husband, Terry, and found joy in watching sports and her favorite shows. Her compassion extended to animals as well. She had a tender heart for all creatures and treated them with the same warmth she gave to people.
Her radiant smile, generous heart, and loving nature will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
A private service will be held by the family.
