Ronald J. Schexnayder

Ronald J. Schexnayder passed away on August 25, 2024 at the age of 86. He was a native of Gramercy, Louisiana and a current resident of Baton Rouge, Louisiana. He leaves behind to cherish his memory his wife of 65 years, Barbara J. Schexnayder, his children; James Schexnayder, Troy Schexnayder (Mary) and Dawn Kershaw (Chris) and his grandchildren; Paige, Jude and Cole. He was born on November 8, 1937 to the late Wilton and Wilda Schexnayder and was one of nine children.

Ronald proudly served his country in the US Air Force, retiring with the rank of Tech Sargeant, after over 20 years of service. He always enjoyed spending time with family and friends, especially taking trips to the family camp and enjoying a day of fishing. Ronald was a man of faith and family, a devout Catholic and the most loving husband, father and grandfather. He truly will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

Family and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Tuesday, September 3, 2024 at 11:00 AM at Most Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, 15615 Jefferson Hwy. Baton Rouge, LA 70817. The visitation will begin at 10:00 AM until the time of service. Ronald will be buried with military honors at 2:00 PM at the Louisiana National Cemetery, 303 W Mt Pleasant Zachary Rd. Zachary, Louisiana 70791. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Ronald's memory may be made to Disabled American Veterans (DAV), dav.org; and St. Jude Children's Hospital, stjude.org.
