

A devoted wife and loving mother, she was called home on Sunday, August 25, 2013. She passed away at the Gonzales Healthcare Center surrounded by her family. She was 89 and a native of Lake, LA. She retired from Hi Nabor Supermarket, Baton Rouge after 20 years of service as an office manager. Ruby was an active member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church, where she served as a Sunday School and Bible Study teacher. She was a hardworking woman always keeping her yard looking beautiful. She enjoyed the company of her family and friends and will be missed by all. Visiting will be at Ourso Funeral Home, Gonzales on Wednesday, August 28, 2013 from 9 a.m. until religious services in the chapel at 11 a.m. Burial to follow in the Mt. Zion Baptist Church Cemetery. She is survived by her loving daughter and husband, Cheryl Lynn Dixon Tullier and George Tullier, Jr.; granddaughter and her husband, Melissa Renee Tullier Hebert and husband Daniel Jason Hebert and their children, Austin James Hebert and Ryan Michael Hebert; grandson and his wife, Corey Wade Tullier and wife, Elise Cunningham Tullier and their children, Justin Alex Tullier and Makayla Justina Tullier; and numerous extended family and friends. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Dalton A Dixon of 36 years and Bentley A Martin of 4 years; parents, John Michael and Ida West Michael; sisters, Stella Thibeau, Lois Pellar, and Ethel Aubin; brothers, Wallace, Houston, Elvin, Charles ,and Wilton Michael. The family would like to thank the staff at Gonzales Healthcare Center, Hospice Compassus and to all Ms. Ruby's sitters for their compassion and care.
