

Ruby Lee Dupuy Ory, 93, passed away peacefully Saturday, November 30, 2024 with loved ones by her side. She is survived by Libby and Dean Riley, Licia and David Chaney, Ann Ory; grandchildren, Joshua, Jacob, Nikki, Jami, Ashli, Rebecca, Steven, Brian, and Charles; twenty-two great grandchildren, Jax, Shep, Mills, Jonas, Jude, Max, Caroline, Kayden, Emma, Jenison, Joby, Addison, Alli, Cassidy, Ella, Ory, Oaklee, Ollie, Holden, Beau, Sutton, and Lennon; sister, Patricia Volentine; and brother, James Dupuy. She is preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Ory, Jr.; sons, John Paul and Kevin Ory; parents, Louis and Kate Dixon Dupuy; granddaughter, Brandi Chaney; and great granddaughter, Roe Fontenot; sister, Luticia Kinchen; brothers, Shelton Dupuy, Berlin Dupuy, Louis Dupuy, Jr., and Hazel Davis. Ruby’s early years were spent growing up on Bluff Road in Dutchtown. She played basketball at the original Dutchtown High School. She retired from St. Theresa of Avila school as the food service manager. Ruby loved to sew, crochet, garden, cook, and dance with her husband at social events. She served as a volunteer pink lady for 20 years at the St. Elizabeth Hospital and was a SALT member. She enjoyed trips with family, as well as friends from Council on Aging. Family and friends are invited to attend the visitation which will held on Tuesday, December 3, 2024, from 5:00PM to 8:00PM at Ourso Funeral Home in Gonzales. Visitation will resume Wednesday, December 4, 2024, from 9:00AM until Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00AM at St. Mark Catholic Church, with celebrant Fr. Martin Lawrence. Burial will follow at Hope Haven Mausoleum Prairieville. Pallbearers are David and Licia Chaney, Ben Wall, Dexter Fontenot (honorary), Neil Ford, Joshua Ory, Jacob Ory, Steven Riley, Brian Riley, Charles Riley (honorary). Special thanks to doctors Labatut, Rees, Janot, and Barker, sitters, Ms. Lynn, Amber, Tessie, and Deb.
