Ruth Marie Bergeron Melancon

Ruth, born Dec. 9, 1919, was called home to God on Thursday, May 12, 2011, at age 91. She was a wonderful homemaker, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend who was loved by all. She is survived by a daughter, Rose Marie Robertson and spouse Donald Saunier, of Baton Rouge; son, Ted Melancon, of Convent; nine grandchildren, Darby Saunier, Huey Jacob, Robin Hill, Rodd Robertson, Jodi Gremillion, Mickey Robertson, Tomi Carrick, Morgan Melancon and Lauren Melancon Corbin; 10 great-grandchildren, Tiffny Hart, Chelsea Robertson, Alex Gremillion, Karleigh Hill, Tyler Robertson, Ryan Gremillion, Logan Robertson, Cameron Robertson, Mikaela Teetrick and Luke Corbin; and three great-great-grandchildren, Perry LeJeune III, Trenton LeJeune and Steven LeJeune. She was preceded in death by her parents, Nick and Alice Letulle Bergeron; first husband, Charles Robertson; second husband, Albert Melancon; two daughters, Patricia Ann Robertson Jacob Carrick and Judy Ann Robertson; a son, Charles O. Robertson Jr.; three sisters, Mabel Lanegrasse Buchanan, Eula Mae Viguet and Earline Mury; three brothers, Alfred Bergeron, John Bergeron and Clarence Bergeron; and grandson, Ken Robertson. A devoted Catholic, she was a member of the Catholic Daughters of America. Visitation at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Convent on Monday, May 16, from 10 a.m. until Mass of Christian Burial at noon, officiated by the Rev. Vincent Dufresne.
