A resident of Head of Island, she passed away at her home on Saturday, Aug. 6, 2011. A retired accountant for Borden Chemical Co., she was 68 years old. She is survived by her loving husband, Larry Oxner; three daughters, Robin Oxner Cowles and husband T.H., Nicole Oxner Heisler and husband Joey, and Sonia Oxner McCullough and husband Brian; sisters and brothers-in-law, William and Jeanette Pierce, and James and Pat Oxner; four grandchildren, Haleigh McCullough, Karlie Heisler, Natalie Heisler, and Anna Grace Cowles; numerous nieces and nephews; and her beloved canine companion, Cricket. She was preceded in death by her mother, Sylvia Bruss.
