Shirley Chaisson Duplessis, a devoted Catholic, Wife, and Mother passed away peacefully at the age of 88 on Thursday, October 5th, 2023 surrounded by family. She was a resident of Dutchtown and a former resident of Marrero, LA. She is survived by her children: Winnie (and Ronald) Griggs, Joy (and Brian) Fonseca, Neil (and Gina) Duplessis, Tammy (and Howard) Naquin and Rebecca (and Tony) Thomas; thirteen grandchildren: Emily Griggs Hollis, Matthew Griggs, Lydia Griggs, Melissa Griggs Miller, Billi Fonseca Munsterman, Brian Fonseca Jr., Scott Wunderlich, Carl Duplessis, Neil Duplessis Jr., Olivia Naquin, Andrew Naquin, Victoria Fairchild, Julian Fairchild; as well as 12 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years Carl Duplessis and sister Thelma Littleton. Family and friends are invited to attend a visitation at Ourso Funeral Home, Gonzales, LA on Sunday, October 8, 2023 from 5:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Visitation will resume at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, Prairieville, LA on Monday, October 9, 2023 from 9:30 a.m. until a Mass of Christian burial at 11:00 a.m. Internment will immediately follow in the Prairieville Cemetery.
