Simon Joseph Young Sr.

Simon Joseph Young, Sr., a native and resident of Gonzales, LA passed away on June 29, 2016. Simon retired from Western Electric after 31 years of service. He is survived by his wife, Audrey White Young; his son Simon Joseph Young, Jr. and wife Lydia; sister Gwen Young Dixon and husband Stanley; grandsons: Clay Joseph Young and Cary Lynn Young; and granddaughter Chantelle Young; three great-grandsons: Lane Joseph Young, Jacob James Young and Anthony Zimmerle; two stepsons: Jimmy Bercegeay and wife Joan and Edward Bercegeay and wife Joan; step-grandson Wesley Broussard. Preceded in death by his parents Allen (Callote) Young and Gaddys Young, daughter Katherine Mary Young and son Lane Carroll Young and two stepsons: Gary Bercegeay and Jerry Bercegeay. Visitation will be held at St. Mark's Catholic Church on Friday, July 1, 2016 from 8AM until mass of Christian burial at 11AM celebrated by Rev. Rubin Reynolds. Entombment to follow in Hope Haven Mausoleum in Gonzales, LA after which a gathering is planned at the Fr. DeMaria Activity Center at St. Mark.
