It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Vicky Borne, a beloved mother, wife, and friend, who courageously fought a battle with cancer until her peaceful passing on August 31. Vicky was a resident of Prairieville, LA. She was born on September 29, 1957, and throughout her life, she touched the lives of many with her warmth, generosity, and love. Vicky was an incredible cook and an even better baker. Countless memories were created in her kitchen over shared meals and laughter. A devoted fan of all LSU sports, Vicky never missed an opportunity to cheer on the Tigers. She was especially fond of football, gymnastics, and women’s basketball. Her passion for the Tigers was infectious, oftentimes leading to games filled with excitement and spirited conversations. Vicky enjoyed a rewarding career as a Commercial Loan Assistant, before retiring to spend more time with her family. Her dedication to her career earned her the respect and admiration of her colleagues and clients alike. Above all, Vicky was a devoted wife and mother. She shared 49 beautiful years with her husband, Larry, a testament to their enduring love and partnership. Her two sons, Shawn and Kevin, were her pride and joy, and she cherished every moment spent with them. Vicky was more than just a mother and wife; she was a dear friend to many, known for her kindness, strength, and the ability to make everyone feel like family. Her legacy of love will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. She is survived by her loving husband, Larry Borne, her two sons, Shawn and Kevin Borne, and her father, Art Ruiz. She was preceded in death by her mother, Nell Ruiz, and her brother, Juan Ruiz. A private celebration of Vicky’s life will be held on a future date with her closest family and friends. Though she is no longer with us, her spirit will continue to guide and inspire us all.
