

A native and resident of Gonzales, she passed away Saturday, April 23, 2011, at the age of 83. She was a 1945 graduate of Gonzales High School, 1950 graduate of LSU and a member of St. Theresa Ladies Altar Society. She liked to cook, travel, the theater and music, and loved her family. Survived by her husband of 60 years, Robert R. Philippe Sr.; daughters, Roxann and husband Kenny Barras, Jennifer Philippe, and Andrea and husband A. Rawls Sides; sons, Robert R. Philippe Jr., Timothy Philippe, Edward and wife Louise Philippe; sisters, Doris LeBlanc, Shirley LeBlanc and Evelyn Logan; brothers, Wilbert Braud, Nolan Braud and Edward Braud III; 14 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by her parents, Edward Jr. and Virginia Gautreau Braud; and infant siblings, Ruth and Ernest Braud. There will be a visitation at Ourso Funeral Home, Gonzales, on Tuesday, April 26, from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. Visitation will resume at St. Theresa of Avila Catholic Church, Gonzales, on Wednesday from 9 a.m. until Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m., with the Rev. Gary Belsome, celebrant. Entombment in Hope Haven Garden of Memory Cemetery, Gonzales. Pallbearers will be James Stone, Gregory Stone, Justin Courrégé, Andrew Stone, Ricky LeBlanc and Daniel Logan.
