

Winnie Gautreau Villar, a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother passed away Wednesday, December 2, 2015, in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. She was born December 8, 1919, in Gonzales, Louisiana, and was a life-long resident. She passed away six days before her 96th birthday.
She is survived by her children, Dianne Villar Herin, Dolores Villar of Gonzales, and Ronnie Villar and wife Connie of Cedar City, Utah;
One sister, Edith LeBlanc of Gonzales, Louisiana;
Grandchildren Michael Herin of Gonzales, Derek Smith of Honduras, Dwayne Smith and wife Stacey of French Settlement, Louisiana, Russell Villar and wife Adrienne of Houston, Texas, Michelle Fortenberry and husband Lawrence of Maryville, Tennessee;
Great-grandchildren Jennifer Smith, Luke Smith, Joshua Smith, Rhema Smith, Matthew Smith, Danielle Smith, Jonathan Herin, Rebecca Herin, Stephen Herin, Paul Fortenberry, and Eva Fortenberry.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 69 years, Emery Villar; parents Ernest and Ida Gautreau; brothers Allen Gautreau, Ollie Gautreau, Simon Gautreau; her twin brother Willie Gautreau; sisters Elna Babin, Irene McCain, Lydia Gautreau; and former son-in-law Dr. Michael R. Herin.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 9, 2015, at St. Theresa of Avila Catholic Church, from 9:00 a.m. until the Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m., celebrated by Rev. Eric Gyan. Interment will follow at Lake Cemetery, Lake Louisiana.
Pallbearers will be Derek Smith, Michael Herin, Russell Villar, Dwayne Smith, and Michelle Fortenberry.
