The cause of death was complications from an earlier fall, according to the family.
Mr. Lindsey was born on Nov. 4, 1931, in Marion County, Ala. After a short stent at Florence State Teachers’ College (now the University of North Alabama), he married Joyce Fikes in1950 and embarked on a 42-year career mostly as a construction and concrete foreman, retiring in 1992.
He was a resident of Sumner County since 1967, and at the time of his death, a member of Trinity Baptist Church in Hendersonville for more than 20 years.
He is preceded in death by his parents, father Orville M. Lindsey and mother Ida Lindsey.
He is succeeded by his wife Joyce Lindsey, sisters Ellis Jean (Jake) Mays and Earlene Breland, daughters Teresa (Ron) McClurg, Bobbye (Rick) Jones, Virginia (David) Hubbard, grandchildren Brandon McClurg (Allyson), Duane Arnett and Alex Hubbard, and great grandchildren, Macklynn McClurg and Garrett McClurg.
A funeral service will be conducted 2pm Tuesday, June 28, 2016 at Forest Lawn Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens. Visitation with the family will be Monday from 4pm until 8pm and Tuesday 12pm until 2pm at the funeral home.
