Brookie graduated from Madison High School in 1959. She retired from a long career in the shoe retail industry and enjoyed her retirement years working part-time for Walgreens.
Survived by her sons, Robert Ferguson (Diana) and Glenn Ferguson (Roberta); grandchildren, Brian Ferguson (Katie), Jessica Vangieson (Kelsey), Anthony Ferguson (Ruth), Bobby Joe Barber Jr. and Steph Barber; 9 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held Wednesday from 5pm until 8pm and Thursday 12pm until 2pm at the funeral home.
A funeral service will be held 2pm Thursday, October 24, 2024 at Forest Lawn Funeral Home with Pastor DW Story and Anthony Ferguson officiating. Burial will follow in the Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens.
