Delorese Parker

She is survived by her children, Vivian (Darryl) Chambers, Valerie (Robert) Lamb, Dana (Freddie) Forewright and Dennis (Kristi) Parker; eight grandchildren: Michael (Kathryn) Forewright, Amanda McLean, Taylor (Caleb) Ryker, Remington Chambers, Spencer (Jessica) Forewright, Keaton Forewright, Houston Lamb and Meghan Parker; four great-grandchildren, Teal Forewright, Johnnie Vogle, Annie Vogle and Will McLean as well as many loving aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband of 57 years Dennis Herod Parker, parents Essie (Sis) and Branch Nunley, sister Carolyn Holder and brother Ronnie Nunley.

Delorese was born in Hartsville, TN. She married the love of her life Dennis Herod Parker at 18 and they built a beautiful life together. She was a homemaker when her children were younger, then went on to be a patient care liaison for 25 years at Baptist Hospital, where she worked in the critical care waiting room. She always had a smile on her face and was a breath of fresh air to many worried and grieving families. She loved to sew, cook and spend time with her family. She was incredibly proud of her children and grandchildren. She treated all her children’s spouses like her own and always made everyone feel welcome and loved. All who knew Delorese loved her and her memory will be honored and cherished. She was a Godly woman, saved at the age of 17 and was a member of New Bethel Missionary Baptist Church for over 60 years.

The family would like to express their love and appreciation to the staff of Gentiva Hospice, as well as her caregivers, Louise Stark and Sherry Davis. These ladies were such a blessing to Delorese and helped the family take wonderful care of her.

Family and friends will gather at a visitation for Delorese Wednesday, July 16, 2025 from 4:00 PM to

8:00 PM and Thursday, July 17, 2025 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Forest Lawn Funeral Home.

A celebration of life will be held Thursday, July 17, 2025 at 2:00 PM in the chapel of Forest Lawn Funeral Home with Elder Anthony Barber and Elder Jerry Shrum officiating.

Burial will be in the Garden of Meditation at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be her grandsons Michael Forewright, Remington Chambers, Spencer Forewright, Keaton Forewright and Houston Lamb, Nephews Eric Holder, Jimmy Glover, Melvin Watson, Ronald Watson.
