Dorothy Frey Bloodworth

Dorothy (affectionately known as Dot) Frey Bloodworth, 92, was born in Springfield, Tennessee on Sunday, March 30, 1930, to parents Cora Leftwich Frey and Herman Davis Frey. She passed away on Friday, April 15, 2022 at her home in N. Venice, Florida.

She is survived by her daughter, Deborah Claiborne and her husband, Charles, of Knoxville, Tennessee, son, Barry Coleman and his wife, Jan, of Sarasota, Florida, son, Kenny Bloodworth, of N. Venice, Florida and son, Kerry Bloodworth, of Riverview, Florida, sister, Beatrice Frey Spillyards, of Little Rock, Arkansas and brother, Alvin Frey, of Lewisburg, Tennessee.

After retiring from the DuPont Company she moved to Sarasota, Florida with her husband, Jesse Bloodworth, who passed away in 2007. Dot’s family was her sole focus. She loved without limits and asked little in return. She was a discerning woman of exquisite taste and a Christian who always strived to be the best person she could be. She enjoyed traveling to National Parks, Hawaii, Alaska, British Columbia, Europe and going on cruises.

She dearly loved all of her grandchildren: Kelly Coleman, Whitney Conard Shelden, Ashley Conard Healy, Jessica Bloodworth Jones, Katelyn Bloodworth Norton, Hilary Bloodworth Ambrosino, Rachel Bloodworth Martin, Lauren Bloodworth and step grandchildren: Angela Claiborne Caldwell and Julia Claiborne Viands. She also has the following great grandchildren: Piper, Christopher, Pierce, Wini, Steve, Collin, Grant, MacKenzie, Madison, Mason, Jacob, Reagan, Shawn, Kinsley, Briley and another one on the way. She was preceded in death by her parents and the following siblings: Davis Frey, J B Frey, John Frey, Louise Frey Hamsley, Annie Frey Earhart, Betty Frey Smith and granddaughter, Kelly Coleman.

Her memorial service will be on April 29, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. at Forest Lawn Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens in Goodlettsville, Tennessee.
