Dorothy Ann Rist, born on June 30, 1939, in Tennessee, passed away on January 24, 2026, at the age of 86. Dorothy was a resident of White House, Tennessee, and was known for her love of Alan Jackson and her green thumb.
Dorothy graduated from Goodlettsville High School in 1958. She married on January 22, 1960, and later divorced in 1977. She never remarried. Dorothy was a dedicated member of Northridge Church in White House, Tennessee.
She was preceded in death by her father, James Erby Bloodworth; her mother, Bessie Lee Kemp Bloodworth; her brother, George Bloodworth; her sister-in-law, Betty Bloodworth; her brother, Eddie Bloodworth; her sister-in-law, Judy Bloodworth; and her granddaughter, Amy Akin Houck.
Dorothy is survived by her daughter, Renee Rist (Neil) Akin; her grandson, Aaron (Cristina) Akin; her granddaughter, Amanda Akin (Christian) Adams; her grandson-in-law, Noah Houck; and her great-granddaughter, Adeline Marie Akin.
Visitation will be held at Forest Lawn Funeral Home, 1150 South Dickerson Road, Goodlettsville, Tennessee, on January 31, 2026, from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm. The funeral service will follow at the same location, beginning at 2:00 pm.
Dorothy Ann Rist will be fondly remembered by her family and friends.
