Dorris Leonard Haywood

Dorris Leonard Haywood passed away on April 2nd, 2025, in Nashville, TN, at the age of 88. He was born on March 17th, 1937, to parents, James and Ola Haywood in Maury County. Dorris was an avid handyman, a lover of Jesus, and caring family man. He attended Grays Point Baptist Church in Joelton, TN, for 25 years.

Dorris was preceded in death by his wife of 30 years, Rose Ann Haywood; his wife of 24 years, Peggy Haywood; daughter, Hope Marie; his father and mother, James Haywood and Ola May Haywood; siblings Oscar Haywood, David Jasper Haywood, Gerald Haywood, Bernice Haywood and Joyce Edison; grandson, Coty Craddock; and great grandsons Mason and Landon Haywood.

Dorris is survived by his children, Donnie Haywood (Angie), Doris Ann Egbert (Scott), Ronnie Haywood, Regina Transue (Bryon), Sonny Reddiker (Patsy); his sister, Sue Meeker; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

A visitation for Dorris will be held Tuesday, April 8, 2025, from 4:00-8:00PM at Forest Lawn Funeral Home & Memorial Gardens and again on Wednesday, April 9, 2025, from 12:00-2:00PM. A funeral service will occur Wednesday, April 9, 2025, at 2:00PM. Burial will follow the Funeral Service.
