She was preceded in death by her mother, Lucille Ammons; her husband, Frank Wimberly; and her sister, Delma Gatlin.
Flora leaves behind a loving family who will cherish her memory always: her daughter, Debbie (David) Collier; her grandson, Scott (Morgan) Collier; her great-grandson, Emerson Collier; her sister, Mildred Farris; along with several cherished nieces and nephews.
Flora was a longtime and devoted member of the Church of Christ, attending the 11th Street, Trinity Lane, and Rivergate congregations throughout her life. Her faith and church family were deeply important to her, and she carried herself with grace, poise, and a genuine love for others. She never met a stranger and had a special way of making people feel welcomed and cared for.
Her family shared these heartfelt words about the impact she had on so many lives: “If you were ever at my house, at Opryland, or even Fair Park; if you attended the 11th Street, Trinity Lane, and Rivergate Church of Christ; if she took you to church with us on Sunday nights, or to haunted houses, if I called you friend, she loved you.”
Flora especially loved trips to Opryland and treasured the simple joy of spending time with family and friends. She was known for her fantastic sense of humor, her warm spirit, and the kindness she showed so freely to others.
Her grandson, Scott, was truly the light of her life, and Scott and Emerson brought her her greatest joy and proudest moments.
