
He was born on April 17, 1920 in Selma, Alabama.
He served in the United States Marine Corp from 1938 to 1945 and was privileged to be the personal aide to President Franklin D. Roosevelt aboard the USS Tuscaloosa on a Goodwill tour around South America.
Prior to retirement, he worked in a variety of sales positions. He was an avid fisherman and a gardener extraordinaire. He had a strong faith in Jesus Christ, and in their younger years, he and “Mamma Moore” taught elementary Sunday school classes where they had a strong influence on many young lives.
Frank is preceded in death by his father, E. F. Moore, and mother, Martha Elizabeth Cargill Moore, his brothers Levy and Graham Moore and his sister Virginia Moore Speer

He is survived by his wife of 72 3/4 years, Phyllis Mae Elston Moore, his son Gary L. Moore and wife Sally, his son Michael D. Moore, 4 grandchildren (Melissa Moore Taylor, Amy Moore Stapleton, Jennifer Moore Sundquist, and Jeremy Moore), 12 great grandchildren (Amanda Taylor Wooley, Haley Stapleton, Mallory Taylor, Julian Sundquist, Matthew Stapleton, Madison Taylor, Clara Taylor, Luke Stapleton, Jonathan Stapleton, Emily Taylor, Mark Taylor, Ben Taylor) and 1 great-great grandchild (Alivia Wooley).
A memorial service will be held at Connell Memorial UMC, 113 Church Street, Goodlettsville, TN at 4:00pm on Friday, October 3, 2014. Visitation with the family is at 3:00pm. The family requests that memorial gifts be given to Connell UMC in lieu of flowers.
