“Geno", as he was known by many, was an avid golfer and long-time member of Gallatin Country Club. When Gene was not playing golf, he could be found at the ballfields supporting his kids and grandkids in whatever sport they were playing. Gene served his country in the United States Army before managing Nashville Finance Company prior to his retirement.
Born in New Madrid, Missouri to the late Carl and Bongene (Simpson) Krebs, Gene is survived by his of wife of 58 years, Mary; children Matt Krebs (Kim), Karla Correll, Karen Davis (Johnny); grandchildren Amanda (Robert), Ashley (John), Katie (Aaron), Matthew, Morgan (Kayla), Mitchell, Meredith, Aleita; great-grandchildren Shaun, Tucker and Levi; Siblings Russell (Barbara), Tommy (Sue), Judy (Pete), Louella (Grady), Donna (Robert), Randy (Rhonda); as well as many other beloved extended family and dear friends.
Visitation will be held on Friday, June 30, 2023 from 12pm – 2pm with graveside services to be held in the funeral home chapel due to anticipated weather conditions at 2pm, and burial to follow, all at Forest Lawn Funeral Home & Memorial Gardens, 1150 S. Dickerson Pike Rd., Goodlettsville, TN.
The family would like to give a special thanks to Dr. Hyatt Sutton and nurse Rhonda Graham for their kindness and caring attention during this difficult time.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests charitable donations be made in memory of Gene Krebs to St. Jude Children’s Hospital or to Shriner Children’s Hospital.
