

Gladys Charlene Addison, 91, passed away Tuesday, March 7, 2023. Born in Lebanon, TN, Gladys was the only daughter of William (Cooney) Eddie Bennett and Lillie Mae (Other Mama) Williams Bennett. She was a housewife in her younger years with 4 children, an early job was at Cain Sloan’s in the 80’s where she worked for many years. Numerous church members would come to work during their annual inventory and all would lunch together. She also enjoyed going on Ladies Aid trips. She spent many years as an ER secretary at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis, IN and Nashville Memorial Hospital before retiring. She enjoyed gardening for many years, crocheting and quilting, working on puzzles on rainy days and going to estate sales where she collected mostly glass and brassware’s. She loved flowers and always had them around the house both inside and outside. Flowers always flourished under her care. More recently, she mainly enjoyed working with flowers, feeding birds and her dog Littlebit.
Gladys is survived by her 4 children, Edward V (Wanda) Andrews Jr., Elaine (Billy Wayne) Preston, Debra (Kevin) Ferrin, and Steven Andrews; 5 grandchildren, Leanne (Chris) Reeves, Stephanie (Josh) Vargo, Susan (Michael) Smith, Richie (Hope) Rediker, and Ryan Leath; 12 great-grandchildren, Gavin Reeves, Gabby (Tyler) LeVan, Caleb (Hope) Sabin, Kaitlyn Sabin, Matthew Manda, Braedon Pennington, Lily Jo Leath, Chance Rediker, Blakely Rediker, Jacey (Logan) Mallory, Isaac Stock, Sydneigh Harper; 5 great-great-grandchildren, Emma Reeves, Mason Sabin, Weston LeVan, Parker Sabin and Teagen LeVan.
Gladys lived a long and full life and hoped that her life would be celebrated (as opposed to mourning her passing).
Visitation will be held Friday March 10 from 11 - 1pm at Forest Lawn Funeral Home, Goodlettsville, followed by a Life Celebration Service at 1pm. Interment will be immediately after the Life Celebration Service at the Forest Lawn Gardens.
