Gloria was born on August 7, 1945, in Nashville, Tennessee, to Jackson Smith Batey and Sara Virginia Batey. Her life was a testament to love, resilience, and profound faith.
Gloria grew up in Nashville, where she embraced the warmth of her family and the values instilled by her parents. She was a proud member of the Cottontown Church of Christ, where she spent many years dedicating herself to the community and nurturing her spiritual journey. Her faith was an integral part of her character and provided her strength and serenity throughout her life.
Gloria was happily married for 29 wonderful years and shared her life with her late husband, William Mac Watts, who preceded her in death. Their marriage was a beacon of love and devotion, setting an example for all who knew them.
Family was the cornerstone of Gloria's life. She is survived by her loving brothers, Steve and Bill Batey, who cherished her as a sister and confidante. Gloria's legacy shines brightly through her two devoted daughters, Rebecca K Gann(Michael) of Gallatin and Kristina L Boyle of Knoxville, who carry forward her compassion and kindness.
Aunt Gloria, as she was fondly known to her nieces and nephews, filled their lives with her infectious laughter and unwavering support. Her family was her greatest treasure, and she devoted herself to them with all her heart.
Her love extended to her grandchildren, Jessica Hope Hudson, Christopher Boyle, Hannah Caitlin Gann, and Noah Jackson Gann, who were the joy of her life. She was also blessed with great-grandchildren, Jordan, Liberty, Bella, Dylan, and Novella, each of whom held a special place in her heart. Gloria embraced her role as a matriarch with grace, leaving behind a legacy of love and memories that will be cherished forever.
Gloria's life will be celebrated at a memorial service held on November 1, 2024, at Forest Lawn Funeral Home & Memorial Gardens.
