Harvel Luther Hughes, age 87, passed away Thursday, March 9, 2017. He was born Wednesday, September 25, 1929 in Athens, Alabama and is preceded in death by his parents, William Luther and Etta Elzora Griffin Hughes; grandson, Keith Hughes.
Mr. Hughes was a member of Goodlettsville Pentecostal Church and a driver to Potter Freight Lines for of 25 years; his hobby was his family. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Mildred Juanita Irvin Hughes; sons, Randy (Jamie) Hughes, Eugene (Deeanna) Hughes, Ricky (Kathy) Kelly; sister, Mildred Goff; grandchildren, Rhonda Kelly, Kim Cook, Michelle Pate, Cody Hughes, Kristy Hughes, Steven Hughes; great-grandchildren, Lauren Pate, Justin Pate and Wyatt Heavrin.
Family and friends will gather to remember Mr. Hughes at a visitation Sunday, March 12, 2017 from 2:00 until 6:00 at Forest Lawn Funeral Home.
A Celebration of Life will be conducted Monday, March 13, 2017 at 10:00 in the chapel of Forest Lawn Funeral Home 1150 South Dickerson Road, Goodlettsville, Tennessee with Bro. Tim Zuniga and Bro. Pat Lawrence officiating. Burial will follow in Harpeth Hill Memory Gardens.
