Ida Lou Sherrill, a faithful and beloved woman, passed away on December 4, 2025, at the age of 87. Born on March 16, 1938, Ida Lou was a cherished and devoted individual known for her selfless and kind-hearted nature. Her generous spirit touched the lives of many.
Ida Lou was preceded in death by her husband, George Neal Sherrill, her daughter, Jeanice Sherrill, and her son, Neal Sherrill. She is survived by her son, Alex Sherrill, and daughters, Reba Sherrill, Connie Sherrill, and Abby Gafford. Her legacy continues through her grandchildren, Brenna, Emily, Alexander, Andrew, Kaitlynn, and Megan, as well as her great-grandchildren, Madelyn, Rose, Lily, James, Elaina, Kendall, Ivy, and Reaghan.
Ida Lou loved her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and all her family deeply. Above all else, she loved Jesus and read her Bible every morning before starting her day. Ida Lou was dedicated to helping others, a passion she fulfilled through her career as a caregiver to the elderly and the ill. She enjoyed walking daily, taking in the beauty of God's creation, and found much pleasure in listening to church music and gospel hymns.
A visitation will be held at the Hendersonville Seventh-day Adventist Church, located at 118 Anderson Ln, Hendersonville, TN 37075, on December 9, 2025, from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm. This will be followed by a Celebration of Life at the same venue at 1:00 pm. A committal service will take place at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens in Goodlettsville, TN, at 2:30 pm.
Pallbearers honoring Ida Lou's memory will include Alexander Sherrill, Andrew Sherrill, Matt Pearson, Ronnie Tidwell, Scott Gafford, Tommy Huskey, and Zack Gafford.
Ida Lou Sherrill will be remembered as a devoted, selfless, and generous woman whose love and faith left a lasting impact on all who knew her.
