Irma F. Cottell

Irma Frances Cottell, a beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on October 15, 2024, at the age of 88. Born on November 14th 1935, in Carthage, TN and raised in Old Hickory, TN. She graduated from Dupont High school in 1957. Irma was a beacon of grace, style, and faith throughout her life.

A devoted Christian, Irma was deeply involved in her church community, where she served in various ministries and touched countless lives with her kindness and compassion. Her faith was the foundation of her life, guiding her in every decision and inspiring those around her.

Irma is welcomed home by both of her parents, Reuben and Flossie Givens; her brother, Thomas Givens; and her husband of 32 years, William Cottell.

Irma is survived by her two daughters, Wendy Cottell (John) and Kelli Cottell McDonald, who cherish her legacy of love and strength; her 3 granddaughters Skylar Cottell (JB), Haili Ryan, and Nikki McDonald, and great granddaughter Lilli Bee Fort, who brought her immense joy. She is also remembered by a close circle of friends who admired her warmth and generosity. She will be greatly missed.

Visitation will be held at Forest Lawn Funeral Home on Monday, October 21st, 2024, from 1-2PM with a service starting at 2PM. A burial will be held immediately after the service.
