

Jack Edward Williams, age 84, was called home on March 23, 2013. Born on June 21, 1928, in Difficult, Smith County, Tennessee, son of the late Clarence and Jewel Earps Williams. On February 15, 1947, he married Robbie S. Payne, who preceded him in death on December 25, 2009, after more than 62 years of marriage. Jack is survived by a daughter, Debi S. Williams of Goodlettsville. The family moved to Goodlettsville in 1966. They started Dixie Motors in 1968 while Jack was still working for Ryder Truck Lines. After his retirement from Ryder, he continued to operate Dixie Motors in Goodlettsville for 45 years. Since 1982, people have enjoyed live music and dancing at “Robbie’s Music Barn” which they started because of their love of music and member of the Masonic Lodge. In addition to his daughter, Jack is survived by his sister, Faye Hawkins and husband, Richard of Nashville; brothers, Bobby Williams and wife, Henrietta, of Carthage, Tennessee; Osteen Williams and wife, Emogene, of Defeated, Tennessee; and several loving nephews and nieces. The family also acknowledges his three wonderful care-givers, Fay Windsor Debbie Turner and Debbie Harris. Pallbearers: Bobby Huffines, Randall Mabry, Jimmy Carter, Kenny Green, Mark Williams, Bruce Chambliss, Russ Stamps. Friends from “Robbie’s Music Barn” will serve as honorary pallbearers. Elder Harold D. Linville will officiate. Visitation at Forest Lawn from 2 – 8 p.m. on Monday and from 11 a.m. until services at 1 p.m. on Tuesday.
