Jay Anthony Dominguez

Jay Anthony "Brother" Dominguez, age 63, of Ponchatoula, Louisiana passed away on Friday, August 20, 2021 in Hendersonville, Tennessee. Jay was born Sunday, August 10, 1958 in New Orleans, Louisiana. He is preceded in death by his grandparents, George McComb Alexander Boote, Louise Temple Dole Boote, Paul Hypolitte Dominguez, and Carmelite Serpas Dominguez, and his parents, Joseph Charles Dominguez, Sr., and Virginia Boote Dominguez.

Jay is survived by his brother, Joseph C. Dominguez, Jr. (Anne), sister Jill Dominguez Hamilton (Ron), nephews Joseph C. Dominguez III, Matthew L. Dominguez, Gairen Alexander Molina, niece Hope Louise Hamilton, great nephew Joseph C. Dominguez IV, great nieces Victoria L. Dominguez, Halley C. Dominguez, and Ana Louise Dominguez. He is also survived by many wonderful cousins with whom he grew up, and they all have many funny stories to share.

He had numerous friends, including his loyal friends from the OTB, “The Crew.” Jay’s friends would describe him as a character that would keep them entertained with crazy stories about his life and experiences. His coworkers would describe him as grumpy at times, but once you cared to know him, he had the biggest heart.

Jay loved to cook and was known for adding twists to many of his mother’s recipes, claiming that he “takes it to the next level!” Mardi Gras was one of his favorite times of the year. For many years, he was involved in a marching club that performed before the parades on Mardi Gras Day.

Jay was recently retired from Northshore Toyota, where he worked as a Parts Specialist. He worked in the automotive industry for over 25 years.

One of Jay’s favorite songs was Bob Marley’s “Three Little Birds.” He would often bring inspiration to those around him by sharing the words of the song – “Don’t worry about a thing, cause every little thing is gonna be alright.”
