John enjoyed the outdoors and was an avid deer hunter. He worked for Dupont and retired from Fiberweb in 2006.
John and Chloe (Shelo), his wife of 57 years, were members of Bellshire United Methodist Church.
He is preceded in death by his parents and his sister Jenny.
John is survived by his wife; children Missy (David) Fyke and Chris (Tabetha) Carr; siblings Betty, Patsy, Paul and Debbie; grandchildren Matthew Fyke, Sara Fyke Capps, Jacob Carr, Gracie Carr and Mary Fyke; and five great grandchildren.
