

Born in Larksville, Pa., he was one of eight children born to Mary Jane and Cornelius Fisher.
After completing high school, he was awarded his pilot’s license and later was given a war commission in WW II., where he flew bombers to England as well as flew them over “the hump” (Mt. Everest) to India and Burma five times during WW II. He retired from the U S Air Force as Lt. Colonel after 22 years; he then owned and operated Hardi Garden Center in Donelson for several years. He then joined the Nashville Airport Authority and was a member of the planning team for the current Nashville International Airport.
He was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Donelson, and a Rotarian for many years
He was preceded in death by his wife of 71 years, Audrey L Fisher, his seven siblings, and a grandson Russell Fisher of Nashville.
He is survived by his three children, Marjorie Ann Bannister (Smyrna), David J. Fisher (Sherry), Cedar Hill, Tex. and Mary Jane Charles (Steve), Mt. Juliet; eight grandchildren, Rob Fisher (Bambie) Forney,Tx., Elizabeth Bannister (Anne) Nashville, Katie Peach (Jeff) Smyrna, Kelly Schmidt (Steve) Grand Prairie Tx., Shellie Vogler (Mike) Smyrna, Michael Bannister (Tracey) Smyrna, Taylor Charles and Casey Charles of Mt. Juliet as well as thirteen great grandchildren.
Visitation will be on Friday, October 28th from 9:30 AM to 11AM at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 192 Graylynne Dr. Donelson, Tenn. 37214.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, Ocober 28, at 11AM at Holy Rosary Catholic Church192 Graylynne Dr., Donelson, Tenn. 37214
Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery , 1001 Lebanon Rd., Nashville, TN 37210
