John Monroe Hicks, Jr. age 77, passed away Thursday, January 28, 2021. John was born Tuesday, July 20, 1943 in Nashville, Tennessee and is preceded in death by his parents. John Monroe Hicks, Sr. and Flora Dodson Hicks; sisters, Joann Wheeler and Peggy Windel.
John worked as a sales clerk for JC Penney and enjoyed baking; porcelain doll making, drawing and oil painting and had a huge passion for animals. He was a very loving and kind person that enjoyed doing for others. John made a big difference in everybody's life and will be missed by all who knew him.
He is survived by his sisters, Mary Blunkall and Brenda Brawner; nieces, Teresa Sibold, Amy Crowe, Amanda Parsley, and Dayna Tomlin, Shelly Caroll and Elaine Nickens; nephews, Terry Hedgecoth, Donald Scruggs, Shane Scruggs, Randy Scruggs and Tracy Hedgecoth and Kenneth Brawner.
A celebration of life will be conducted 1:00 Thursday, February 4, 2021 in Forest Lawn's Mansker Hall. Entombment will follow in Spring Hill Cemetery.
Family and friends will gather to remember John at a visitation Wednesday, February 3, 2021 from 5:00 until 8:00 at Forest Lawn Funeral Home 1150 South Dickerson Pike Goodlettsville, Tennessee
