He is preceded in death by parents, Phillip E. Cook, II and Doris G. English Cook; brother, Phillip E. Cook, III.
Survived by wife of almost 35 years, after a 9 year engagement, Jacque Evenson Cook; sister, Christine (Bill) Cook Marr, Carrie (Jim) Artman; brother, Grant (Tatiana) Cook; sister, Carole (Glen) Cook Ellzey. He is also survived by many nieces. nephews, great nieces, great nephews, family, and friends.
Joe was born in Renton, Washington. He lived in Madison, Ohio before moving to Nashville in 1977. He graduated from Madison Memorial High School in 1969. He attended Kent State University and Nashville Technology School. He served in the Army.
Joe was known for his love of family and friends, music, motorcycles, cars, trains, and boxing. He never met a stranger, always full of surprises with his humor, stories, amazing knowledge, protector, and teacher to all. He was such a bright lite to his family and friends.
He worked as a Project Manager for C.A. Gardner, Conrad Construction, Olympian Construction, Maynard Construction, Wheat Construction, and Wallace Hutchinson Construction. He retired from Metro Public Schools as a lead electrician.
A Celebration of Life visitation for Joe will be held Sunday, April 10, 2022 from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Forest Lawn Funeral Home & Memorial Gardens, 1150 South Dickerson Road, Goodlettsville, TN 37072.
