Detroit, Michigan to the late John Wilson and Madeline Sloan VanCleve and was a graduate of Adrian College, where he studied music.
He moved to Atlanta and had a career in the hospitality industry and later relocated to Nashville to become the devoted caregiver to his mother Madeline Sloan VanCleve. Larry lived a quiet life, surrounded by close friends and family, and his beloved canine companions, Chico and Cassie.
He leaves behind his brother, Gene Wilson VanCleve, sister-in-law Nancy VanCleve, niece Erin VanCleve Nolen, and nephew Andrew Wilson VanCleve, and four great-nephews and one great-niece.
