Larry was a great brother to his sister who is having a bad time over the loss of Larry they were very close every year he came to Boston Mass,and  Cape Cod she will always have memories that a lot of people will never have

I transferred to Beech High School in my Sophomore year. I landed in Mr. McKenna's English class along with my High School Sweetheart. (2 posts up.) It was a wonderful class in so many ways. He loved all things Irish and was a HUGE Celtics fan. :) He made English fun and is one of the few teachers that had any kind of impact on me. I think about all the lives he must have affected.... His memory will certainly live on.

I wanted to thank everyone that has shared their condolences and fond memories of my father.  As difficult as this past week has been, it was a pleasure reading through all the kind messages and the memories especially.

I met "Mac", my serogate father, as a young teen. Alan, Lawrence and I shared beautiful moments together with him, and I am grateful and honored to have shared them with such a fantastic family. I recall many times when Alan and I would share an event with Mac, and I can hear Mac vividly saying "awe geez Alan"! It makes me smile, still. I can say that Mac was one of the most honrable, loyal, and caring man that I have ever met. Mac, Thank you. Thank you for treating me as your son and loving me with all my imperfections. Thank you for showing all of us what Love, Loyalty and integrity looked like and felt like. My life is richer because of you, thank you Mac, with much love.

I transferred into Beech my sophomore year. I never had Mr. McKenna as a teacher, but so many of my friends spoke so highly of him. For teenagers to do that, he had to have been a great man. Lawrence, you and your family are in my prayers.

I had Mr McKenna as a teacher at Beech High School and as a friend over the last year as he came with his family to TBN's Bistro every Wednsday to eat lunch. I looked forward to hearing him talk Celtics basketball and spending that time with such a great man every week. I will miss him for sure

I have very fond memories of Mr McKenna. He ignited a passion for poetry and writing for me that i didnt know i even had. He will be remembered in many hearts. May his family and friends be comforted in this transition.

One surprise quality for me about Larry was that, on top of liking many things green and Irish, like Celtics and St. Patrick's Day and etc., he had quite a green thumb: at on time many years ago he set to growing roses next to his house; he planted several bushes, took great care of them and they bloomed better than Martha Stuart's. I remember admiring his roses and thinking "who knew"; he was very happy to collect everyone's compliments.

I want to know how sorry for the loss of your father. I just pray time will will help heal the pain

He was the worlds greatest next door neighbor!! He was Fun, witty and truely a good friend of 30 years.

I spent the last two years of my life reunited with father, and he was, ironically and in a way I never would have expected my loving father and my very best friend. I know now that it matters so very much how you exit this life, and spent the last several years of his life simply, but in a powerful and cogent way, being kind to the people around and near to him.
