Delores Lynn Keith, a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and prayer-warrior passed away peacefully at home on April 12 after a valiant four year battle against brain cancer; she was 69 years old. Born to Yvonne and Roy Johnson, Lynn grew up in the East Nashville area where her sincere devotion to Christ started at a young age. During her teenage years, she attended Madison High School where she met Marvin Earl Keith. They later married at 21 and throughout their 48 years of marriage had three children, traveled the country on their motorcycle, and were faithful, active members of their church.
Lynn found her passion and purpose caring for others and she dedicated 41 years of her life to a career in nursing. Starting at Vanderbilt and later moving to Nashville Memorial and finally Skyline, Lynn’s genuine smile and white nurse’s cap, which she wore throughout her entire career, are two of the most notable attributes for which she’s remembered. Lynn extended the same warmth and kindness to her patients as she did to everyone else in her orbit.
Lynn will undoubtedly be remembered for the way she made others feel. An avid card writer and churchgoer, Lynn poured her heart into everyone who was lucky enough to know her. Though her family grieves her passing, they are comforted knowing that her love of Jesus guided her until the very end.
Lynn is preceded in death by her parents Roy and Yvonne Johnson and parents-in-law Grady Keith Sr. and Lou Keith as well as brother-in-law Grady Keith Jr. and son-in-law Clayton Young.
Lynn leaves behind her devoted husband Marvin Keith Sr. and her beloved children Kristi Keith-Young, Kathy (Jeremiah Madden) Keith, and Marvin (Larry) Keith-Chen as well as grandchildren Shanté Johnson and Nova, Keegan, Marley, and Sullivan Madden. Lynn is also survived by her brothers Lee (Roxanne) Johnson and Larry (Julie) Johnson and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family, and cherished friends.
Lynn will be laid to rest at Middle Tennessee Veterans Cemetery. The service will be presided over by The Reverend Alan Thompson. Pallbearers include: Blake Johnson, Britton Johnson, Calvin Hullett, Patrick Johnson, Randy Martin, and Teran Johnson.
