

Maria “Mia” Kathryn Peden Pullin (August 26, 1965 – May 5, 2026) was born at Nashville Memorial Hospital in Madison, Nashville. She was a graduate of Madison High School, Class of 1983, and Austin Peay State University.
Maria started working at Opryland USA in 1981 and continued working Fan Fair/CMA Fest each year through 2019. She was also a cherished part of the City Road United Methodist Church Youth Group. Maria later became a Metro school teacher and eventually worked at CVS Health, where she assisted customers with their Medicare benefits. At every stop along the way, she formed lifelong friendships and touched the hearts of countless people.
Maria was a kind and loving soul who had the rare ability to make everyone she met feel special. She was a loving and beloved mother, not only to Coleman, but also to many of his friends. She was also a devoted grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend. Her loyalty and selflessness were immeasurable, and she was always willing to help others in any way she could.
She was joined in death by her adoring husband, Kenneth “Ken” Pullin. She is survived by and will be dearly missed by her son, Coleman Shockley (Taylor); her grandson, Ronan; her mother, Martha Peden; her brother, Mark Peden (Abby); her mother-in-law, Morgan Dehn; and countless friends and extended family members.
She was preceded in death by her father, Maynard M. “Pete” Peden, Jr.; her grandparents, Maynard Peden, Sr., Margaret Peden, Rowena Hurt, and Richard Hurt; her aunts Georgia Peden and Barbara Schroeder; and her uncle Bill Peden.
A Gathering of Family and Friends will be held at Forest Lawn Funeral Home in Goodlettsville, Tennessee, on May 16, 2026, from 12:00 pm to 4:00 pm.
