So sad to hear this news. I am a 1979 graduate of Stratford and Mrs. Braswell left a lasting impression on me. I had her for Chemistry class and I was quiz team captain my senior year and Mrs. Braswell was our sponsor. Mrs. Braswell would sometimes give me a ride home after quiz team practice if I needed one. Also, Mrs. Braswell was instrumental in my gaining a small academic scholarship with the recommendation letter she wrote. While smaller in stature, Mrs. Braswell was a larger than life presence and she helped foster in me a love for learning (among a few other teachers) that would be a factor in my becoming a teacher in later life. Just a fine lady, an impactful teacher and motivator of young people. Rest in peace, Mrs. Braswell.

I had Ms. Braswell for General Science in1965, General Biology in 1966, Chemistry in 1967 and Physics in 1968 At Goodlettsville High . She liked our class so much she moved up with us! That is saying a lot! As Hank Abbott always said “ we lived in the best of times, the best of places and the best of schools. “Thank you Mrs Braswell!

I’m so sorry to hear about the passing of Mrs. Braswell. She was an important, positive influence on me. She fostered my interest in science and encouraged me to pursue a career in health care. She made learning fun.
She taught us to do the right thing; she was a great model for her students as well as her family.
While her death is in the normal passage of life, it is still sad to lose a loved one. My sympathy to you.

Mrs. Braswell was a dear woman who cared so much about her students. A few years back I was in a hospital waiting room when this tiny woman tapped me on the shoulder. I had never been a remarkable student. I had not seen her since my high school graduation decades before. Yet she still remembered me. She was amazing and I will always remember her.

Mrs. Braswell taught me in Chem 1 and Chem 2 (class of 1983 Stratford). What a blessing to have someone willing to teach 2years of chemistry to us! I am a nurse anesthetist now - Mrs. Braswell deserves much of the credit for any success I had as a science student. Our class was full of rascals.... she took our teasing with lightheartedness and a great sense of humor. We loved her.
