Melba Williams Reese, age 81, of Goodlettsville, Tennessee passed away on Sunday, September 14, 2025. Melba was born Thursday, June 8, 1944 in Nashville, Tennessee and is preceded in death by her parents, Perry and Lillie Ballard Williams; her parents-in-law, Richard "Pete" Reese and Margie Lois Reese and sister-in-law, Linda Poteete.
Melba is a graduate of Maplewood High School as a member of the first graduating class of 1962. She worked 40 years for the Davidson County Sheriff's Department prior to her retirement. She had a deep love of reading and enjoyed time with her horses.
Melba is survived by her loving husband of 50 years, Billy Wayne Reese; her son, Travis Reese; her sister, Jean (Larry) Peyton; sisters-in-law, Joy Rogers, and Debbie (Steve) Holt, brothers-in-law, John (Joyce) Reese and F. A. Poteete. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews who adored her.
Family and friends will gather to remember Melba at a visitation scheduled for Thursday, September 18, 2025 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Forest Lawn Funeral Home with a celebration of life to follow at 2:00 PM.
A burial will be in the Garden of Love at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens with nephews as pallbearers, Ryan Rogers, Jason Holt, Brandon Holt, Ron Rogers, Rick Reese and Jerry Goodman.
