Nellie Anderson Fontanella

Nellie Beatrice (Hall) Anderson Fontanella, age 101, passed away on Sunday, December 26, 2021, at the NHC Cool Springs Assisted Living Facility, Franklin, Tennessee. Nellie who was born on Friday, April 30, 1920, in Lascassas, Tennessee, was the daughter of the late Irvin and Susie Hall of Old Hickory, Tennessee, and married to the late William Bryan Anderson of Hendersonville, Tennessee. In later years, she was married to the late George Fontanella of Venice, Italy. Both of her children Rosemary Anderson Ward, and William James Anderson precede her in death.

Nellie is survived by her sister Louise Hall Scoggins of Pomeroy, Washington; daughter-in-law, Linda Anderson of Franklin, Tennessee; granddaughters Angela Ward of Goodlettsville, Tennessee, and Lori Anderson (Jack) Perry of Chapel Hill, Tennessee; great grandchildren William Jacob Perry and Caroline Anderson Perry of Chapel Hill, Tennessee, and several nieces and nephews, all of whom brought great joy to her life.

Nellie lived most of her adult life in Hendersonville, Tennessee where she owned the Ruth’s Tots and Teens Store until her retirement in the early 1990’s. She was a member of Hendersonville First Baptist Church.

A visitation for Nellie will be held Thursday, December 30, 2021 from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Forest Lawn Funeral Home, 1150 South Dickerson Road, Goodlettsville, Tennessee 37072. A graveside service will follow in the Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens at 4:00 PM.
